Insights and Inspirations
Peace filled greetings. This is a place for sharing insights and inspirations. Sometimes they will be my own thoughts, poems, posts, drawings, or inspirations. Sometimes I will feature the wisdom and creativity of others who inspire me. I share them to connect with hearts, to lift spirits, create community, have a place to share, and to inspire.
As I've said many times, I am a life in progress. I'm grateful for that because it means there is much left to learn! Curiosity, wonder, and awe are constants in my life and my life would be so much less joyful and fruitful without them. This is a place to share what I'm learning along the way and who I'm learning from. Enjoy your visit!
You can never stand in the same river twice, the wise ones say.
What is the river, truly?
Is she the water she holds?
With her ever present flow, her composition different each moment.
Is she the banks that strive to contain her?
Continuously, bits of them are stripped away and new boundaries formed.
Is she the seemingly immovable rocks she tumbles over?
They are former mountains on their way to becoming pebbles.
Is she simply a winding mirror to show the sky its beauty?
One moment her surface is still and glassy and the next turbulent and dark.
Is she the whole of her journey from spring to delta?
My eyes witness only a tiny stretch of her as I stand in her swirling waters.
Perhaps the lesson then; that I cannot stand in the same river twice because I,
am not the same person twice.
Each moment different thoughts and emotions flow through me,
each moment I surrender and release bits of myself, pushing my boundaries,
each moment I wear away the immovable within myself,
each moment I reflect the beauty of both the shadow and the light within and above me.
Each conscious moment its own journey from spring to delta.
What then is the river?
I am the river.

Life Is a Verb Camp
Patti Digh is a person who walks her talk. She is an activist, a speaker, an author, and an inspiration.
Life Is a Verb Camp is a dream come true for her. From the LIAV Camp website, "Camp is a place where people of all walks of life come together to explore what it means to be fully human and what it means to live life fully, as an active and not a passive, verb. To live, and live fully. To love, and love well. To let go, and let go deeply."
